With each of these residential options , service is provided by support workers who encourage and assist the person to learn and maintain the skills needed to live as independently as possible. The type of support can include budgeting, money handling, food selection and preparation, home maintenance, safety in the home and community, emotional support, self care, support during appointments, medication administration, community involvement, use of leisure time, use of public transportation and accessing other support services in the community.
